Follow the exit signs, cross the two roads with cars and taxi to find the busses.

There are multiple methods:

  • Taxi: faster but expensive, I suggest the “Havabus” below, that is cheaper and takes around the same time to reach the main points cause it’s direct.

  • “Havabus”: private bus company, costs around 4€ pay in TL cash or credit card on board. At the bus zone on the right. Comfortable if you need to go to the eurpean side, around Taksim or 4Levent. Has a seat for every person and room for luggage.

  • Metro: Suggested for reaching the asian side, like Kadikoy, or Yenikapi. Exit and go on the left, trust the signs even if they send you downstairs under a bridge. For the metro and bus the transportation Istanbul-card can be made in the yellow machines

  • Bus: Cheaper option, there are many lines, Google Maps gives them. Takes more time but sometimes there are no places to sit and you have to keep your luggage next to you.

IST (Istanbul Airport)

In this airport you have to walk a lot, it’s pretty big.

TIP: You can connect to free WiFi in the baggage claim area, to communicate your arrival and to check the tranportation. It’s on the left of the beauty shop, slide your passport in the machine and print the ticket with the wifi name and password.

Follow the exit signs. When you arrive at the doors that lead to ouside for the bus, instead of going out, take the escalator down on the left to go to the transportation floor, for the metro follow the signs.

  • Bus: Cheapest option. Bus lines are on the exit of the transportation floor on the far left. Probably no seats available.

If you need a e-sim card with internet for a few days cheap you can check out airalo or Holafly.

Pro tip: Istanbul has free WiFi in almost every metro and tourist area, it’s called “ibbWiFi”. If you need internet you can always use it for free with your passport number and your country’s phone number for registration (they will send you an sms first time).
