Venice Airport VCE (aeroporto Marco Polo)
At the airport, you find the bus station directly outside on the road. There are no trains from/to the airport: a connecting rail is under contruction (at 2024). For transportation I suggest bus over taxi, a clarification:
- ATVO bus is a private company, costs 10€, connects many MAIN destinations, even distant.
- ACTV is the public one around Venice, normal routes cost 1,5€, BUT, for the tikets from/to airport is 10€ (If you get in/out the stop “Tessera” (the one before the airport) it’s way cheaper and costs as a normal route! It’s a 10min walk, check the note below.)
- There are also routes from there with Flixbus
In the airport they don’t sell normal 1,5€ tickets for busses (of course), so if you want to leave the airport cheaply from the next normal stop “Tessera”, you have to: either have one already, either use the app “AVM Venezia” for a digital ticket, either tap with your credit card when you enter the bus. If you tap with the credit card, it’s important to remember to tap also when you get out the bus, or the route will be calculated as full, and billed 10€!
Venezia Mestre FS (train station) from/to VCE airport
Bus station: Leaving from the main entrance is on the right, in 100m. You can see the square with ticket machines and some busses.
- bus ATVO 10€
- bus ACTV (num 15) (10€ if origin e destin airport, but if you leave/go to “Tessera” neighborhood it’s normal ticket )
Venezia Central (Island) from/to VCE airport
- bus ATVO 10€
- bus ACTV (num 5) (10€ if origin e destin airport, but if you leave/go to “Tessera” neighborhood it’s normal ticket )
Udine from/to VCE airport
- or Bus to Venezia Mestre train station (see above) + train to Udine (12€).
- There is a Flixbus.
Pordenone from/to VCE airport
- There is a direct bus ATVO for 14,5€
- There is a Flixbus.
- or Bus to Venezia Mestre train station (see above) + train to Pordenone.
Padova from/to VCE airport
- There is also a direct bus, check the specific post in the blog.
